LAND of Metal is an evening celebrating the art of LAND's metal maniac Michael Pellew and his art. Taking place on the eve of Pellew's birthday, the program will provide one truly awesome dude with his first ever live rock/nightclub experience. And not in just any nightclub — Brooklyn's Saint Vitus Bar is New York's premiere venue for all-things loud 'n' fast.
LAND of Metal will feature live hard rock karaoke along with special guest JD Samson (Le Tigre, MEN) and Brandon Stosuy (Editor, Pitchfork). A raffle with incredible prizes will be hosted by Laina Dawes, author of What Are You Doing Here?: A Black Woman's Life and Liberation in Heavy Metal. It's going to be an awesome night.
Original Michael Pellew drawings, paintings, sculptures, cards and limited edition bags, shirts, buttons and other merch will be for sale. 100% of the raffle funds and original art sales will benefit LAND, as well as any additional in-venue donations.
