The Annual Russian Heritage MonthⓇ presents a series of public events throughout the month of June in New York. These events celebrate the rich diversity of cultural traditions brought to the U.S. from the many countries of the former Soviet Union. Along with art exhibitions, these events include:
- contemporary and folk music concerts
- film screenings
- literature presentations
- public festivals
- health and sports fairs
- dance performances
The Russian American Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) entity founded in 1997. The foundation encourages interest in and understanding of Russian culture among all communities in the U.S. It also promotes interest in and understanding of American heritage among Russian-speaking communities.
