Ongoing Collaborations
LAND has continuing partnerships with Teaching Artist Rebecca Goyette from the Museum of Modern Art's Access Program and Cynthia Alberto, founder of Weaving Hand.
Cynthia Alberto
Cynthia is an artist, teacher, and the founder and director of Weaving Hand. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology (F.I.T.) in New York City, she studied textile surface design with a specialization in weaving. At LAND, Cynthia leads therapeutic workshops to create textiles that serve as functional art objects. Cynthia has exhibited her work around the world, and was the recipient of the Dan River Weaving Award, The Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, Peters Valley Craft Center Art Educator Scholarship, and the Museum of Arts and Design's Open Studio Residency.
Rebecca Goyette
Since 2009, Rebecca has worked with the artists of LAND, teaching workshops based on a variety of media. In collaboration with Goyette, LAND artists have created group paintings, fiber art sculptures and video art pieces, all featured in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in Masters of Puppets (in 2012) and Televisionary (in 2015).
