#1 Under Control World Tour will include a cross-section of Pellew's drawings and sculptures. His works feature NYC trains and buses, fashion design, “punk funk freaks from the East Village and around the Tri-State area”, and pop portraits of favorite singers and performers. Humorous ruminations on pop culture, Pellew's imaginative observations are simple and succinct.
When asked by LAND's Matthew Bede Murphy about his current inspiration, Pellew responded: "My new thing is the PIN–OUT hairstyle and teaching the youth to follow their dreams and do better hairstyles." And his advice for other artists? "Don't be a sell-out." (You can read the full conversation here.)
While Pellew has been shown in galleries around the world, this is the first time his work will stand alone.
